You will support our scientists to help bring the most powerful, controlled pulsed-fusion device ever constructed online with the goal of generating electrical power. As a Senior Technician on the Experimental Science team, you will report to our Manager of Experimental Science at our Everett, WA office. You will collaborate with a versatile team to fabricate, assemble, test, troubleshoot, deploy, operate, maintain, and repair various mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic assemblies. Responsibilities include installing, aligning, and maintaining high voltage pulsed power, ultra-high vacuum (UHV), and fuel systems; fabricating and building unique rapid prototypes, assemblies, and instrumentation boxes; supporting revision iterations according to engineering specifications; performing PCB soldering, assembly, rework, and cable soldering to industry standards; helping with upgrades, modification, and reconfiguration of test bays; communicating project activity, status, and issues to technical owners; creating and maintaining documentation; and developing and maintaining new inventory of consumables and parts. Required skills include 5+ years of relevant hands-on experience, comfort working in confined spaces, demonstrated experience in fabrication and maintenance of scientific equipment, hands-on experience with electric hand tools, familiarity with measurement equipment, and experience troubleshooting complex systems.
