BASE SALARY$150k – $220k

As our first in-house Technical Recruiter, you will own end-to-end recruiting for our product-building roles (Product Engineer, Frontend Engineer, FDE, Data, Design, and adjacent roles). This is a highly execution-driven role requiring speed, structure, and judgment in a high-growth, in-office NYC environment. You’ll be responsible not only for filling roles, but for building and running scalable recruiting systems. You will source and close elite EPD talent through data-driven optimization and exceptional candidate experience–while partnering closely with engineering and product leadership as we rapidly expand headcount in 2026.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own the EPD talent pipeline: Drive the full-cycle recruiting process.
  • Drive end-to-end recruitment for foundational roles: sourcing talent beyond the obvious channels, building relationships over months when needed, and orchestrating closes that bring the right people on board at the right time.
  • Be the voice of Avoca to the talent market by crafting authentic pitches that cut through generic startup messaging and articulating why our specific mission and moment matter to candidates who've heard it all before.
  • Build the candidate journey that top talent tells their friends about, where declined candidates still refer others, interview debriefs are learning moments, and our process itself becomes proof of our culture.
  • Deliver a world-class candidate experience that showcases Avoca’s culture.

What You Will Bring:

  • 3+ years of experience recruiting for EPD roles in high-growth startup environments, ideally at an early stage.
  • Proven track record in both sourcing and closing top EPD talent.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and experience influencing hiring decisions.
  • Ability to manage multiple searches and priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Who You Are:

  • Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and comfortable operating in fast-moving, high-growth environments.
  • Thrives on owning processes end-to-end and balancing multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Autonomous, self-directed, and comfortable working with ambiguity.
  • A proactive and effective communicator.
  • You are collaborative, organized, and efficient.
  • In-office, engaged, and eager to lead from the front at our NYC location full-time.

Benefits:

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Company-sponsored 401(k) through Vestwell
  • Flexible PTO plus U.S. federal holidays
  • Company-wide off-sites
  • Daily in-office lunch through Parkday
  • Dinner covered when working late
  • Commuter benefits and late-night rideshare
  • Standing desks and workspace accommodations available on request
  • All core tools and software provided
